Module Goal

Students give a sprite a physical character — gravity, bounce, friction — and learn that these are dials to be tuned by running the thing, not values to be calculated.

Pre-requisite snapshot

Module 5.1 (Hello Sprite and Movement) complete. Students can create a canvas, make a sprite and set its velocity.

Post-requisite snapshot

Students can build a closed physical space, drop a body into it, and adjust gravity, bounciness and friction to get a feel they chose deliberately.

Book §5.2 Physics Feel. This module is barely built — it carries a single lesson, q5play-bounce, against a book section that has not been spec'd out. BOOK-TO-MODULE.md §4 lists §5.2 as mapped but never built.

This file exists because that one lesson was orphaned: its title is numbered 5.2.1, and until 2026-08-16 there was no module file with id: "5.2", so listModules() never emitted the module and the lesson rendered on no page at all. Anyone could reach it by direct URL and nobody could find it.

The right fix is to build §5.2 out properly at module 5.1's density (24 lessons over its book section). Until someone does, this file at least makes the one existing lesson reachable.

Authoring note

q5play-bounce's starter was a commented-out solution ("Uncomment each STEP and fill in the code"), which meant every graded requirement passed on an untouched file. Rewritten 2026-08-16 as a real scaffold — STEP comments describing the work, no code to uncomment. See BOOK-TO-MODULE.md §6, which forbids commented-out solution code.
